ASIC guide helps small business directors
22 May 2015
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has recently released an online resource, "ASIC's guide for small business directors" to assist small business owners with understanding their rights and responsibilities as company directors.
The guide describes in plain English the legal framework that applies to company directors of small business enterprises by clearly stating their obligations as they are set out in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), with the guide being structured around major elements of directorship including how to meet your responsibilities, issues of liability and what happens when you resign.
