Employee share ownership rules revised

In response to a consultation paper released in late 2013, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has updated its guidance on employee incentive schemes by issuing a revised regulatory guide plus new class orders. Certain provisions of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) pertaining to relief applying to disclosure, licensing, advertising, hawking, managed investment schemes and on-selling are outlined in the amended guidelines

Regulatory Guide 49 Employee incentive schemes (RG 49) and Class Orders [CO 14/1000] Employee incentive schemes: Listed bodies ,[CO 14/1001] Employee incentive schemes: Unlisted bodies and [CO 14/978] Employee incentive schemes: Personal offers seek to address the shortcomings of previous guidance by creating a more streamlined regulatory environment for share schemes to operate within by reducing administrative burden.
