Federal government seeks feedback on online copyright regulation
7 August 2014
The Federal Attorney-General's Department has published a discussion paper putting forward a case for the ongoing and effective regulation of internet copyright infringements.
Amendments to the Copyright Act 1968 addressing the concepts of extended authorisation liability, extended injunctive relief and extended safe harbour schemes are the three key concepts discussed in the paper aiming to hold internet service providers to account for copyright breaches.
The Government seeks feedback from industry on the questions defined in the discussion paper with submissions closing on Monday 1 September 2014.
