New grants opportunities for Queensland sporting clubs

The 2014-15 financial year has ushered in new opportunities for Queensland sports clubs to improve their facilities and develop their membership base by applying for a Queensland Government grant. The latest rounds of the "Get in the Game" funding initiative offer much needed financial support for clubs wanting to grow their organisation from a grassroots level. Here is a brief synopsis of what is on offer:

  • Get Started (applications open 15 July 2014)
    Get Started is aimed at underprivileged youth aged 5 - 18 years who would benefit from joining a sports or recreation club. Vouchers of up to $150 are available to eligible applicants to assist with payment for club fees.These vouchers are redeemable at a registered clubs.
  • Get Going (now open)
    This scheme supports local sport and recreation organisations with funding of up to $10,000 for ventures that create opportunities for increased membership.
  • Get Playing (now open)
    By providing up to $100,000 in funding for facility development, this initiative aims to increase levels of participation in sport and greater choice for the public.
