Queensland Building and Construction Commission and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 passes through Parliament

The Queensland Parliament has passed the final instalment of legislation drafted in response to the inquiry into the work of the Queensland Building Services Authority.

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 (Qld) which was approved by Parliament on 16 October 2014, initiates reform in the areas of licensing, consumer protection, the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme, dispute resolution and contract construction. The amendments further the Government's goals to improve governance in the building industry, reduce red tape and improve risk management processes.
