Gordon is a Special Counsel with 31 years banking experience and who has practiced as a banking and finance lawyer for 10 years.

Before practising law, Gordon worked with Westpac for more than 14 years. It was his promotion to Manager (Legal, Corporate and Institutional Business) that lead him to start his law degree.

While studying law, Gordon spent six years working as a Senior Analyst with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). In this role he was responsible for reviewing the legal elements (from a regulatory perspective) of securitisation programs and capital raisings by banks, building societies and credit unions. Gordon also oversaw mergers and acquisitions in this role.

More recently, Gordon has provided advice in relation to retail and commercial credit (including construction finance), structured finance (superannuation fund loans), creating and maintaining suites of precedent documents (including loan and security documents) and other general banking advice.

Gordon has worked with clients including publicly listed mining and industrial companies, public benefit organisations (including hospitals), banks, building societies, credit unions, mortgage funds and private lenders.

GordonĀ is a member of the Queensland Law Society Banking & Finance Services Law Committee.
